Exploring Environmental Change: SCIAMACHY — Six years in space
Germany, The Netherlands, and Belgium invite you for the presentation of SCIAMACHY’s results at the symbolic Three-Country Point.

SCIAMACHY has been exploring atmospheric composition and climate trends for more than five years now. The instrument was built in a trilateral cooperation between Germany, The Netherlands, and Belgium. It was handed over to the European Space Agency and launched in 2002 on the environmental satellite ENVISAT. So far, SCIAMACHY has been stimulating about 400 scientific publications.

The three sponsoring space agencies, DLR (Germany), NIVR (The Netherlands), and BIRA-IASB (Belgium), have chosen a symbolic place to celebrate the anniversary: Hotel Chateau Bloemendal in Vaals (NL), right next to the point where the three countries join.

The ministers responsible for space flight and Nobel Price winner Prof. Dr. P. J. Crutzen are invited. The principle investigators, their scientific teams and agency representatives will be present. The press will be briefed on highlights of the striking results to date and an outlook will be given of what we may expect about atmospheric and climate trends towards the future.
